The Doha Declaration, issued at the conclusion of the Doha
International Conference on the Family held on Novermber 29th
and 30th , 2004 in Doha, Qatar, is an important and significant
reaffirmation of international commitments to protect and
promote the family made over the years by governments, international
organizations and members of civil society at all levels.
It was officially recognized on Decemeber 6th, 2004 by the
United National General Assembly as part of the observance
of the tenth anniversary of the International Year of the
Family.
The conference and the Declaration issued by the delegates,
would not have occurred without the leadership, support and
financial commitments of Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser
Al-Missned, Consort of His Highness the Emir of Qatar and
President of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, State
of Qatar.
It is fitting and appropriate that individuals around the
world who support the family express their appreciation to
